Zapata Brings A-Game, Panthers Beat Buccaneers
|
In a tight tilt between the Carolina Panthers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ettore Zapata was the deciding factor. The Carolina right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Earning his 15th save for Carolina was Jason King. The win puts the Panthers at 26-24, while the Buccaneers drop to 22-28.
Zapata's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. Zapata, who is tied for 7th in the NBC in wins with 5, goes to 5-3 on the year with 51 strikeouts.
"Ettore throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Carolina manager Tim Breidinger.
