Commanders Win, Now 27-21
The Washington Commanders defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 6-5, at Raymond James Stadium. Washington catcher Jake Trewartha had a superb performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Carlos Martinez earned the win for Washington. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3. Adam Aksamit was credited with the save for Washington, his 12th of the season.

Victor Barajas had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the second for Washington. With the bases loaded and the Commanders leading 1-0, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Barajas told the Washington Today.

The National Conference East-leading Commanders are 27-21.
