Carolina Sends Washington Packing with 8-7 Loss
|
The Carolina Panthers turned back the Washington Commanders, 8-7, at Ericsson Stadium. Jon Jungels, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Ettore Zapata earned the win for Carolina. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-2. The Panthers improved their record to 22-18 by beating Washington.
Early in the game, pitcher Ettore Zapata had a 2-run double for Carolina. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Panthers on top, 4-2.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Jungels.
