Eagles Top Saints, 7-6
|
No one was more impactful than Colin Drake in an extra-inning, 7-6 Philadelphia win over New Orleans. Drake slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Philadelphia lifts its record to 11-13.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 15th, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Haeflinger had a chance to be the hero. New Orleans pitcher Francisco de la Rosa wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Haeflinger hit a sacrifice fly. The Eagles had themselves a thrilling win.
"This game had its share of tense moments," Haeflinger said, postgame.
