Chicago Bears starter Ethan Leslie led his team to victory over the New Orleans Saints, 5-2. The right-hander was locked-in. The winning pitcher was Leslie, now 1-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. The loss drops New Orleans to 11-6.

Grant Murphy had a big 2-run double for the Bears in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 14-year veteran Juan Reynoso and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bears ahead, 3-0.

Chicago manager Gregg Bianchino was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
