Weathersby Picked Best Player Monday, May 6th , 2002 Washington fans have something to crow about today as Washington right fielder Kyle Weathersby nabbed the National Conference Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Weathersby. He posted a .500 average (12-for-24) this past week with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. Weathersby is currently hitting at a .310 pace with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
