Indianapolis pitcher Ben Cline had a large part in his team subduing the San Diego Chargers, 2-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Cline, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The second-place Chargers have dropped 4 straight games.
The Colts got a big at-bat from third baseman Austin Jones. For the game, Jones was 2-2 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Indianapolis a 2-1 lead.
"Ben set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Indianapolis manager Kevin Stimac.
