No-Hitter for Osorio
|
Jose Osorio relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold San Diego hitless in a win, 4-0, at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
"Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Chargers off balance and guessing the whole game."
The 26-year-old starter rung up 9 strikeouts and 3 walks in whipping the Chargers.
"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," San Diego skipper Manny Garcia said.
This year, Osorio has compiled a 2-1 mark with a 3.43 ERA in 7 starts.
