The San Diego Chargers got a sterling performance from first baseman Danny Vargas, but the Cincinnati Bengals still prevailed, 5-3. Vargas went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cincinnati currently is in third place in the American Conference North at 16-22.

Davis Mora, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Bengals organization, aided the Cincinnati cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Cincinnati manager Cody Ray. "It's usually not just one thing."
