The San Diego Chargers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 8-7. Doing his part was catcher Montrelle Tapia, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Isaiah Wallace in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Dave Shirey took the loss for Kansas City. The Chiefs fall to 9-15.

The decisive blow was delivered by Victor Mora in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Shirey to win the game for San Diego. The home crowd went nuts.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said San Diego manager Manny Garcia.
