Seahawks Handed 7-5 Loss
|
Enrique Nunez, who is tied for 7th in the NBC in wins with 5, was locked in. The right-hander led the Chicago Bears to a 7-5 win against the Seattle Seahawks at Soldier Field. Nunez, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. Chicago is 26-22 and Seattle, with the loss, 20-28.
Jeff Roberts had a big 2-run double for the Bears in the bottom of the first inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Rooks and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bears ahead, 4-0.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Roberts told the Chicago Citizen.
