Vikings Rally Late to Clip Washington
The home crowd had a good time watching the Washington Commanders and Minnesota Vikings get after it.

In a low-scoring contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Commanders, Angelo Medina, who is tied for 8th in the NBC in strikeouts with 48, proved to be the difference. The Minnesota right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Vikings win. Minnesota reliever Victor Gonzalez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Alberto Shutters absorbed the loss. Earning his 11th save for Minnesota was Odílio Cinza.

Minnesota took a 2-1 lead on Mike Cook's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cook hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Alberto Shutters visibly frustrated.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Cook told the Minnesota News.

The Vikings sit in third place in the National Conference North with a record of 19-20.
