4-3 Cowboys Win over Panthers Evens Season Record
|
Carolina got a terrific game from center fielder Kyle Kroon. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Dallas, 4-3. Kroon slugged 2 home runs. Hisaki Hanada, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Panthers to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Sam Stuart wrapped it up, recording his 8th save.
Dallas used a clutch at-bat from Jonathan Ponce to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cowboys ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I really like what we did out there today," Ponce said after the game.
Dallas now has a record of 18-18 with the win.
