Cruz Morales, who is tied for 5th in the NBC with a 1.11 WHIP, never let the Cowboys get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Panthers to a win, 2-0. The winning pitcher was Morales, now 3-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4. The triumph puts Carolina at 21-14 for the season.
The Panthers had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Carolina, with one out. Dallas, with a runner on 2nd, was mounting a threat. Ramon Lobaton dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he struck out.
