Lobaton Helps Dallas Cruise to 12-2 Win
The Dallas Cowboys easily defeated the Carolina Panthers, 12-2, at Ericsson Stadium, with left fielder Ramon Lobaton a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for Dallas. Ben Will got credit for the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 2 runs on 9 hits in 7.1 innings. Dallas raised its record to 17-17 with the win.

Jonathan Ponce had a big 3-run home run for the Cowboys in the top of the fifth inning. With Dallas leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a changeup from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Rockwell and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Cowboys on top, 6-1.

"They beat us like the proverbial rented mule," said losing manager Tim Breidinger.
