Buccaneers Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Tampa Bay right fielder Edgar Nunez had a 3-RBI game, leading his team in its 6-5 defeat of the Detroit Lions. Nunez picked up 1 single and 2 doubles in the ballgame. Russell Wert picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Alex Perea was tagged with the loss. Tampa Bay, now 6-9, is off to a slow start.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Tampa Bay third baseman Edwin Fonseca, facing Alex Perea, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Buccaneers the 6-5 win.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Nunez.
