The Washington Commanders defeated the New York Giants, 5-4, in National Conference action at Commanders Field. Washington pitcher Carlos Martinez had a standout performance. The loss drops New York to 7-7.

Had Moises Glasgow not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Glasgow hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Commanders.

Washington manager Josh Garcia attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
