Thompson Hits 3 home runs in Saints Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 16-year veteran David Thompson, the New Orleans Saints stopped the Atlanta Falcons, 6-1. New Orleans pitcher Luis Rizo got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Matt Maxwell got the loss. The Falcons, now 4-8, continue their sluggish start.

With New Orleans leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Thompson hit a slider from Matt Maxwell for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Saints ahead, 4-1.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Thompson told the New Orleans Daily. "It's as simple as that."
