Giants Defeat Bears, 13-8
The New York Giants beat the Chicago Bears, 13-8, in 19 innings at Ballpark of Chicago. New York third baseman Carlos Rizo had an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 9 with 4 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Ken Moore earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 1-0. Chicago now is 2-3.

With the game in the balance, help came for the Giants from the most obvious of places: Their star third baseman Rizo, the 28-year old third baseman . With two out in the top of the 19th, Rizo delivered a 2-run double, making the score 9-7, New York. It was the 4th double of the season for Rizo.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Rizo. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
