Dodson Bangs 3 HR Against Cleveland
Thursday, April 11th , 2002
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Cleveland Browns.
Houston center fielder Jeremy Dodson tripled up on the home runs to propel the Texans to a win, 8-6, at Reliant Stadium.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Cleveland manager Mike Watson said. "Dodson hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Dodson collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Jeremy Dodson hit a solo-shot off Ben Harmon in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ben Harmon in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Ben Harmon in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Dodson is hitting .467 this year with 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 45 at-bats, no walks and a .467 on-base percentage. Dodson has played in 10 games.
