Day of Decision: Nieves Retires Wednesday, April 3rd , 2002 Gabriel Nieves may be retiring from professional baseball, but don't expect him to sit still. The Pittsburgh Steelers third baseman today announced that this season will be his last. But at age 38, he still has big plans for the future. "I'm looking forward to traveling and seeing the world outside of The Shield parks. I also want to start taking up some new hobbies and maybe start up a new business, too," he said. "I'm going to enjoy my retirement." |
