Davis's Condition Worse, Suffers Another Setback
Thursday, May 23rd , 2002
Brian Davis was taking it slow and easy nursing a strained hamstring back to good health, when he suffered a setback. According to a Pittsburgh team official, "Brian was making excellent progress and it appeared he would return to the squad ahead of schedule. But then he reinjured it in a light workout." Club doctors now say the 39-year-old Steelers starting pitcher will be out at least another 4-5 weeks.

In 5 starts this season, Davis has recorded 1 win and absorbed no losses. He has pitched 27 innings, allowed 23 hits, struck out 26 and has a 2.67 ERA.
