Bengals Pick Up 3-2 Road Win Over Oakland
The Cincinnati Bengals locked up a win at Oakland Coliseum, knocking off the Oakland Raiders, 3-2. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Jon Valles. He played a major role in the triumph. The Raiders fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2002 season.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jim Bedney? The Cincinnati first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bengals on top, 3-0. For the game, Bedney had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Valles.
