Patriots Pin 3-1 Loss on Denver
|
New England Patriots pitcher Tony Quintero was in top form, leading his team past the Denver Broncos, 3-1. Roberto Velazquez earned the save for New England, his 2nd. The loss puts Denver at 3-6.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from right fielder Carlos Garcia. For the game, Garcia went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave New England a 2-1 lead.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Denver manager Tristen Sawyer. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
