Texans Edge Past Bengals, 3-2
|
Houston second baseman Edwin Rendon helped his team beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 3-2. Rendon went 3 for 5 for the Texans. Houston reliever Dennis Harris got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Alex Reynozo was tagged with the loss. Keith Barnes earned the save for Houston, his 4th.
Had Rendon not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Rendon hit a run-scoring single. The Texans took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Cincinnati manager Cody Ray.
The Texans, now 7-2, have hit the ground running this season.
