Chiefs Handle Miami, Snag 6-3 Win
|
The Kansas City Chiefs cut down the Miami Dolphins by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Javier Carrillo. Carrillo went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Chiefs. Corey Higgins, the winner, goes to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. The loss drops Miami to 5-3.
With Kansas City leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Carrillo hit a fastball from Joe Glick for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 3-0.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Carrillo told the Kansas City Daily.
