Martinez Leads Patriots to Win
The New England Patriots stormed past the Denver Broncos, 17-7, at Invesco Field at Mile High. New England center fielderCarlos Martinez , who is tied for 5th in the ABC in bases on balls with 29, led the hit parade. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 7. David Caldera got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Broncos to 1 run on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. New England has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

New England got a big at-bat from New York native Dustin Baker, who in the top of the third hit a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Patriots ahead, 9-1.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Baker told the New England Herald.
