Oakland 8-6 Losers to Patriots
The 8-6 New England win over Oakland was due in large part to Aubrey Therien. The Patriots shortstop was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Kevin Realmuto earned the win. Will Ritchey, who is tied for 3rd in the ABC in wins with 7, took the loss for Oakland. Earning his 13th save for New England was Roberto Velazquez.

The Raiders had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Patriots going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old first baseman Danny Aviles came to the plate. Aviles hit a bases-clearing double on a 0-2 cutter from Oakland hurler Max Suarez. It was Aviles's 4th double of the year.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said New England skipper Victor Santos.

New England is now 24-25, Oakland 21-28.
