Houston catcher Marcel de Kruijff had a good game, even if his team did not. The Texans dropped a 5-4 decision to Jacksonville at Alltel Stadium. de Kruijff was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Ray Skroch picked up the save, his 1st. At 28-21, Jacksonville is in third place in the American Conference South.

Making an impact for the home team was Chikafusa Nishida. In the bottom of the fourth, the 31-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Jaguars.
