Chiefs Score Late, Clip Browns, 5-4
|
Fans watched the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns fight to the finish.
Javier Carrillo led Kansas City to a win over Cleveland. The final score was 5-4. The second baseman had a huge performance. He whacked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Kansas City reliever Alex Barriga snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Omar Santiago shouldered the loss.
Carrillo had a timely hit for Kansas City in the bottom of the eighth. With Kansas City trailing 4-2, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 5-4, Kansas City.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Carrillo told the Kansas City Daily.
The loss drops Cleveland to 2-3.
