A jubilant Jeremy Dodson joined the postgame press conference at Gillette Stadium to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the New England Patriots pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Houston Texans center fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 8-3 Texans win.

"He made it look easy," said Victor Santos, manager of the Patriots. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Jeremy Dodson singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Ricardo Quezada in the 8th.

In his season totals, Dodson has 12 home runs, .362 BA, .414 OBP, 31 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has played in 42 games.
