The Pittsburgh Steelers had to overcome a good performance from Oakland pitcher Kyle Patton to claim a 3-2 win at Oakland Coliseum. Patton went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Rich Siegrist came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Pittsburgh, with the win, climbs to 15-29.

Pittsburgh used a timely hit from Matthew Schmitt to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Steelers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Schmitt. "It sure beats the alternative."
