Pittsburgh Steelers starter John Tischler turned in a sterling performance against the Cincinnati Bengals, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. In 6 innings, Tischler surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Tony Stone earned the save, his 2nd, for the Steelers.

Gabriel Nieves had a big 2-run double for the Steelers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from fan favorite Jason Cashwell and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Steelers ahead, 3-0.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Tischler said in reaction to the win.

With the win, Pittsburgh climbs to 3-3.
