Romero Leads Bengals to Win
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Cincinnati and Pittsburgh from playing their scheduled game.
The Cincinnati Bengals downed the Pittsburgh Steelers, 5-3, at Steelers Field. William Romero led the way, going 3-for-5 for Cincinnati. Rich Muldoon nailed down the save.
Andy Burrows had a big 2-run home run for the Bengals in the top of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Dennis Leonard and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Bengals on top, 3-0.
Said Cincinnati manager Cody Ray: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
Cincinnati sits at 3-2 in the early going.
