Steelers Nip Texans, 5-4
|
Though he had a stellar game, John Mullins could not prevent his team, the Houston Texans, from losing, 5-4, to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mullins was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Pittsburgh reliever Elijah Epps was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Keith Barnes. The last-place Steelers own a record of 13-29.
The decisive blow was delivered by Hideaki Kato in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Keith Barnes to win the game for Pittsburgh. The home crowd went nuts.
Kato attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
