Miami Beats Tennessee in Extra Innings
|
The Miami Dolphins did just enough to nip the Tennessee Titans, 5-4, in 13 innings. Miami second baseman Enrique Garay, in particular, had a standout performance. Reliever Juan Andrade picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Randy Jacobs took the loss. The Dolphins bumped their record to 23-14 with this win.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Marcos Lucero came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Tennessee pitcher Randy Jacobs, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Miami on top, 5-4.
"It was a test of wills," said Walter Wilson, the Miami skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
