Houston Downs New York, 3-0
|
The Houston Texans downed the New York Jets, 3-0, at Giants Stadium. Stellar pitching by Todd Rowe had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the ABC in wins with 5, handcuffed his opponent all game. Keith Barnes wrapped it up, recording his 14th save. The Jets, now 13-22, have lost 4 in a row.
Freddy Simpson had a direct impact on the outcome. Simpson contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Houston up, 2-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Simpson.
