Jets Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Houston Texans and the New York Jets, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Kaleb Sherwood was the difference-maker. The Houston right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Keith Barnes wrapped it up, recording his 13th save. The win gives Houston a season record of 22-12.
The Texans got a big at-bat from second baseman Edwin Rendon. For the game, Rendon was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Houston a 1-0 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Rendon said after the game.
