New England Downed, 3-1, by Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins had to overcome a fine effort from New England pitcher Matt Edde to win, 3-1, at Pro Player Stadium. Edde went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Juan Andrade in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Phil Kelley took the loss for New England. Tony Palacios earned the save for Miami, his 6th.
Miami took a 2-1 lead on Marcos Lucero's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Lucero hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New England pitcher Phil Kelley visibly frustrated.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said New England skipper Victor Santos, "and it cost us."
Miami, with the win, is 20-9.
