Dolphins Roll to 8-2 Win Over Patriots
|
Danny Werner led Miami to a win over New England. The final score was 8-2. Werner scored 2 times, going 4 for 5. He also knocked in 1 run batted in. Tom Pacheco picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-0. He struck out 6 in 5 innings. The Patriots fall to 12-16 and continue their wobbly start to the 2002 season.
Miami catcher Yeow-whye Rackham contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Dolphins ahead, 5-2.
"Danny showed up tonight," said Miami manager Walter Wilson.
