Lopez Lifts Falcons to 6-3 Triumph
|
The timely hitting of Hector Lopez helped the Atlanta Falcons down the Minnesota Vikings, 6-3. Lopez went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Falcons. The winning pitcher was Ian Terry. He tossed 111 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. Chris Maria was credited with the save for Atlanta, his 11th of the season.
Lopez had a key at-bat for Atlanta in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Atlanta an early 2-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Lopez told the Atlanta Citizen.
The Falcons improved to 23-29.
