Patriots Suffer One-Run Loss at Cleveland
|
The Cleveland Browns earned a close win over the New England Patriots, thanks in part to Jose Osorio. The Cleveland right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Osorio, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Picking up his 6th save was 33-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Taute.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Browns had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when catcher Eric Stoddard hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Matt Edde and made the score 2-0, Browns. Stoddard was 1 for 4.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Browns manager Mike Watson. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
Cleveland is now 10-12.
