The home team gave the crowd some walk-off drama.

The New England Patriots had to overcome a fine effort from Baltimore pitcher Trystão Martinez to win, 5-4, in 12 innings at Gillette Stadium. Martinez went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was New England reliever Gaby McKnight, now 2-1. The loser was Danny Ascencio.

New England got a knockout punch from Doug Spoo. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Victor Santos, the New England skipper.

The win gives New England a record of 9-10.
