Giants Squelch Falcons Offense in Shutout Win
|
New York and Atlanta duked it out and the Giants came out victorious.
The New York Giants used a great performance from Jim Agin, who is tied for 4th in the NBC in wins with 5, to beat the Atlanta Falcons, 3-0, at Giants Stadium. Agin, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks.
New York center fielder Andres Rangel helped the Giants go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Rangel hit a run-scoring single off Atlanta pitcher Matt Maxwell.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Agin.
New York currently is in last place in the National Conference East at 21-24.
