49ers Fall Short, 3-2, at St. Louis

The St. Louis Rams picked up a win at Edward Jones Dome, courtesy of Ramon Rivera. The right-hander helped his team stop the San Francisco 49ers, 3-2. In 7.1 innings, Rivera surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. St. Louis is now 24-21, San Francisco 24-21.
Joe Daniels had a big 2-run home run for the Rams in the bottom of the first inning. With St. Louis leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Bobby Earnhart and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Rams on top, 3-0.
"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said Rivera.
