Packers Rally to Win
|
Packers fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.
In a close contest featuring the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals, pitcher Eric Coates was in the zone. The Green Bay right-hander helped his team prevail, 2-1, in 10 innings. Fernando Aleman, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0.
Green Bay got a knockout punch from Craig Mazza. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Eric was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Green Bay manager Jason Gallimore.
The Cardinals drop to 6-9, as their fitful start to the 2002 campaign continues.
