Navarro Pops Two Homers in 9-7 Win for Minnesota
|
The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 9-7, at Metrodome. Minnesota right fielder Alejandro Navarro had a superb performance. He went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was John Glenn. His record now stands at 1-1. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits for the Vikings. Earning his 3rd save of the year was OdÃlio Cinza.
With Minnesota leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Navarro hit a fastball from Juan Espejo for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 8-3.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Navarro.
The victory makes Minnesota 4-4.
