Jets Suffer 6-2 Road Loss
|
The Denver Broncos picked up a win at Invesco Field at Mile High, downing the New York Jets, 6-2. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Chris Sims, who played a pivotal role in the win. Sims, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. New York drops to 8-8.
Eduardo Msca had a big bases-clearing triple for the Broncos in the bottom of the first inning. With Denver leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 12-year veteran Pamphile Catenacci and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Broncos ahead, 4-0.
"Chris just settled in and did what he does," said Denver manager Tristen Sawyer.
