Bengals Earn Late 5-4 Win
|
Sam Osborne was a vital contributor to the 5-4 Cincinnati victory over New England. The Bengals left fielder went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Patriots drop to 7-9, as their stumbling start to the 2002 season continues.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Osborne hit a cutter from Ricardo Quezada for a run-scoring single. The Bengals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Osborne told the Cincinnati Times. "But we take nothing for granted."
