Texans Stymie Indianapolis, Take 2-1 Win
|
The Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Houston beat Indianapolis on the strength of starting pitcher Eric Snow's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. Snow yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-0. Keith Barnes earned the save for Houston.
Bob Stiffler was 1 for 5 for Houston. The 13-year veteran had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Danny Salamone. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"Eric went out and did what we needed," said Houston manager Brett Main.
The Texans, now 13-3, have had a terrific start to the season.
